Tandoori
Time History
The
Tandoori Time concept is designed to take advantage of the
changing trends and the popularity of the South Asian cuisines,
culture and music. Given the fast pace of North American
life and move towards more casual approach to life and dress
customers expect quick service in a contemporary casual
setting. However the food must be healthy, made from fresh
and premium quality ingredients and reasonably priced. Equally
important is that North Americans having become accustomed
to eating at Pizza Hut, McDonalds etc expect consistency
in taste and quality from day to day and from restaurant
to restaurant.
The
Tandoori Time concept is designed to fill this gap in the
market place. Tandoori Time is designed to offer high quality
food, freshly prepared, Tandoori style Pakistani food served
in a contemporary casual setting at an affordable price.
Keeping in mind the fast pace of North American life style,
customers will receive quick service in as little as in
15 minutes and at lunch many popular dishes will be available
in as little as 10 minutes.
Tandoori
Time currently operates two "quick casual" concept
restaurants. One company operated and one franchised. That
features a unique blend of high quality, authentic Pakistani
cuisine and North American hospitality and efficiency in
a contemporary setting. Our restaurants offer flavourful
Tandoori (most dishes cooked in a clay oven) style freshly
prepared food served in a casual setting. A large glass
partition between the dining area and the kitchen enables
the customers to see the food prepared by the kitchen staff.
The
menu is highlighted by nan (bread baked in the clay oven),
chicken tikka, fish tikka, ground beef kababs, ground chicken
kababs, salads and other authentic Pakistani dishes. All
tandoori dishes are marinated in spices at least twenty-four
hours in advance to enable the spices to permeate the meat
and fish that makes the finished dishes intensely flavourful.
Waseem
Ahmad and his brother Fareed Ahmad developed the Tandoori
Time concept in 1997. Both have over twenty years of experience
as chefs, and managers with a number of international hotels
and food chains, including Pizza Hut. The company's objectives
are to (1) develop and operate a nationwide system of restaurants
that offers customers excellent quality, freshly prepared
Pakistani style Tandoori meals in a casual setting at reasonable
prices,(2) Create a loyal customer base that generates a
high level of repeat business and (3) Provide superior returns
to its investors. |
